PROJECTS

1

CELEBRATE

THE GIRLS

There are no structured leagues in place for girls Rugby in the UK.

The Bucks Invitational League was set up to provide competitive Rugby for girls in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties.

It is done on a purely voluntary basis and allows hundreds of girls to play competitive Rugby (for the U16s and U18s) and provides a structure for the younger girls (U12s and U14s) to have some great matches.

We want to help celebrate these girls to make sure at the end of the season. We will make sure that every girl receives a medal, and the competitive leagues have trophies. We will also look to make sure that there are some international Rugby players to attend these end of season events to hand out some prizes and to show the girls where they can get to.

SUPPORT SCHOOLS

Having girls Rugby played in schools is the best way to introduce girls to the game. However, this is not easy due to the need for qualified coaches and equipment.

We are here to support schools with helping fund coaching qualifications for teachers, arranging for experienced coaches to come in and support as well as helping with obtaining the required equipment.

3

SCHOOL TOURNAMENTS

We arrange after school tournaments for all the local schools to attend at U12, U14, U16 and U18.

There is a clear demand and desire for Girls Rugby in Buckinghamshire Schools, but no formal league or structure to support this.

We want to further develop and grow girls rugby in schools,

To make sure that the girls can continue with their Rugby journey, we provide each girl who attends with a Rugby ball to take home with them. With over 100 girls at each event, this can be costly. We also have to pay for access to an Artificial Grass Pitch to make sure it is as safe as possible along with the cost of first aide and medical support.

4

RUGBY 4 ALL

We want to make sure that any girl that wants to play Rugby, can play Rugby.

Rugby is not the most expensive sport, but the initial costs are not insignificant. We therefore want to make sure remove any barriers and to support anyone who wants to play Rugby but is struggling to buy the equipment they need.

If someone is struggling, we will make sure that they have all the gear to get them onto the pitch.

Some girls just want to play with their friends and have some fun. This is great and there is nothing wrong with this.

However, some girls want to go as far as they can in Rugby, and we want to help support this by arranging Rugby Camps and talks with international players.

There are other girls who want to get into coaching or refereeing and we will help fund the cost of courses to make this possible.
